Time Signature and Beat Pattern:
4/4, does not use off beats (starts from 1st beat) - (Time signatures explained)

Fundamental Chord Structure:
Basic chord progression: Not progression based. Melody in the key of A major using A, E and C#m chords mainly. (The Asus2 chords are optional - sound better if used in broken chords).

Original scale: A major

Chords transposed a scale of C: C, G, Am (1 semitone below this scale)- (Transposition explained)

Roman numeral form notation: I, V, vi - (Roman numeral notation explained)

Strum Pattern:
Option 1: Fast strumming (fill) - |(DD)(DD)(DD)(DD)| (basically an endless chain of down-strokes)

Option 2: Strum that sounds good for rocked up versions - |(D_)(U'D)(D_)(U'D)|(D_)(UD')(_D')(UD)| (repeats)

Option 3: A better option will be to use the following strum-cum-arpeggio pattern (numbers indicate string number and plus means strummed together):
(root)>3>2>1>3>2>1 and repeat

Option 4: Play broken chords or arpeggios.

(Explanation - 4 beats per meter; the stroke that is marked with a (') is played and muted; the beats in brackets are divided into subunits of equal duration as noted). (More on how to read strum patterns)

Between the meter chord changes occur even though there aren't too many chord changes. Keep with the rhythm in this song - any breaks ruins the effect.

Playings Tips and Song Notes:
The chords are simple and dronic (unchanging persistent playing). Try singing along or playing along with the track to best guess the strum and chord positions.

The song is very easy except for the sheer strain on your fingers from the constant pressure on the frets and the strum. Sometimes the some of the seemingly easiest of songs come with hidden difficulties like this. If played well, its one of the most melodic of Rabindrasangeets.

The tabs of the song (played interspersed with chords) sounds brilliant on a lone acoustic.

Difficulty: Beginner level
