Time Signature and Beat Pattern:
4/4, does not use off beats (starts from 1st beat) - (Time signatures explained)

Fundamental Chord Structure:
Basic chord progression: Its not based on common progressions. Basic chords are in the key of E major (E-F#m-A-B-G#m) with an F# thrown in at times to create tension.
Original scale: E major

Chords transposed a scale of C: C-Dm-F-G-Em (with F# => D) (4 semitone above this scale)- (Transposition explained)

Roman numeral form notation: I-ii-IV-V-iii (with F# => II) - (Roman numeral notation explained)

Strum Pattern:
Option 1: The proper way to play this song is to use a fast arpeggio pattern like the following (numbers indicate string number; "root" means root note of the chord - play on a thick string):
(root)>3>1>2>3 and repeat.

Option 2: Fast strumming - |D(DUDU)D(DUDU)|

Option 3: Play broken chords or single down-strokes.

(Explanation - 4 beats per meter; the stroke that is marked with a (') is played and muted; the beats in brackets are divided into subunits of equal duration as noted). (More on how to read strum patterns)

Between the meter chord changes do occur and the chords are quite tough to quickly change. While changing chords, try and maintain your strum pattern or arpeggio patten.

Playings Tips and Song Notes:
The chords are not too tough but are tough for beginners as these are mostly bar chords, but you do get ample time to change chords - so it will not be that difficult. Try singing along or playing along with the track to best guess the strum and chord positions. The F#m10 chord can be played by adding the 10th interval of F#m scale (i.e. note, A of a lower string) to the F#m chord.

The song is one of those rare original scores that come out once in a while. Its a fantastic composition - both a challenge to decipher and pleasure to the ears.

Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced level
