Strum Pattern:
Time Signature: 4/4

Option 1: Play a 3-beat per meter broken chord pattern like - (6+5+4)>3>2>1>2>3 / (root)>3>2>1>2>3 or single down-strokes

Option 2: Strumming - |D _ _|D' d d| or |D _ _|U _ _|
(Explanation - 3 beats per meter; the stroke that is marked with a (') is played and muted; the beats in brackets are divided into subunits of equal duration as noted. The small 'd's are beats where you play while keeping the string muted - gently strum to produce a rub-like sound akin to a percussion note).

Playings Tips and Song Notes:
The chords are simple and elegant. Between the meter chord changes do not occur. Certain passages or lines may be found to be repeated in various renditions - the melodic structure allows for that to happen, especially every 3rd line of each verse here (the 'refrain' line), where the song goes to a cadence. Try singing along or playing along with the track to best guess the strum and chord positions.

The song is based on the Kedar raga and also have western classical streaks such as the Waltz tempo.

Its a song from the days of colonial Bengal revolting against the Raj. This patriotic song expresses the then new-found sense of nationalism with grace and fervor.
