Time Signature and Beat Pattern:
4/4, does not use off beats (starts from 1st beat) - (Time signatures explained)

Fundamental Chord Structure:
Basic chord progression: The song has, more-or-less, an 8-bar blues pattern. The chords that have been omitted in the progression below only ornament the progression, but the basic chords are as follows:
|Am---|Am---|Am---| E---|
|Am---| G---| F---|Am---|

Original scale: A minor

Chords transposed a scale of C / Am:
|Cm---|Cm---|Cm---| G---|
|Cm---| B---| A---|Cm---| (2 semitones above)- (Transposition explained)

Roman numeral form notation:
|i---| i---| i---|V---|
|i---|VII---|VI---|i---| - (Roman numeral notation explained)

Strum Pattern:
Option 1: Fast strumming - |D_UD|DUDD|

Option 2: Alternate - |(DD)UU'_|

(Explanation - 4 beats per meter; the stroke that is marked with a (') is played and muted; the beats in brackets are divided into subunits of equal duration as noted). (More on how to read strum patterns)

Between the meter chord changes occur incessanty. Broken chords or arpeggios don't sound all that great.

Playings Tips and Song Notes:
The chords are some of the best that RDB has ever made. This is one of the songs that immortalizes him. Try singing along or playing along with the track for the best effect, though the song sounds great on just playing as well. Between the meter chord changes occur regularly, but strumming is never broken. The tabs are worth learning at any level.

The Hindi version of this song is Meri Bheegi Bheegi Si (Anamika). RDB hit two birds with one stone with this one.

Try and learn the tabs - its a major crowd-pleaser!

Difficulty: Beginner / Intermediate level
